Police say man hid drugs and needles in daughter's room

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a man who they say hid drug paraphernalia and pills in his daughter's room during a visit.

Police arrested 34-year-old Lawrence Thompson Thursday night at a home on Six Mile Lane, near Stony Brook Drive.

According to an arrest report, police responded to a call from the home and smelled the scent of marijuana coming from the home as they approached. Police say the the homeowner answered the door and told officers Thompson had been visiting with their daughter all day in the child's bedroom. 


The officers conducted a search of the home, after being given written consent by the child's mother.

During the search, police found two needles, one of which contained a brown liquid, and 23 pills.

Thompson is charged with possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a minor. He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $25,000 cash bond.
