Sen. McConnell and challenger Grimes to participate in farm forum in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A senatorial showdown is happening in Louisville this week.
Alison Lundergan Grimes and U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell will take part in a "Measure the Candidates" forum at the Kentucky Farm Bureau on Wednesday at its headquarters on Bunsen Drive.
The forum is not a debate and is not open to the public.
Mark Haney, KFB's president, will moderate the forum. He and five other members of the KFB Board of Directors will address the candidates on topics specific to KFB policy, agriculture and rural life. Candidates will have three minutes to respond to each question.
Each candidate will be given several minutes to talk and share their view and solutions for the state's current agricultural and rural issues.
After the debate is over, candidates will have the opportunity to take part in a brief news conference with the media.
Several organizations, including WDRB, have offered to host a debate; however both parties have yet to agree on the terms.
