LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The newest attraction at Holiday World is now underway as the company has put the first piece of track in place for the new rollercoaster Thunderbird.

The wing coaster is set to take flight in April of 2015.

Park officials announced the new ride last month, plans for the nation's first launched, wing roller coaster and Holiday World's first major steel coaster.

The ride will go from zero to 60 miles-per-hour in 3.5 seconds.

The seats have nothing above them and nothing below them.

The roller coaster is expected to cost 22 million dollars.

That's twice the amount they've ever spent on one ride.
