LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The victim struck and killed Tuesday night in an accident on River Road has been identified by officials.

The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Amanda Broughton, according to Deputy Coroner Joann Farmer.

The reported cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma. Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley says the incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. near Mockingbird Valley Road.

A Ford minivan struck Broughton. She died at University Hospital. Investigators are not certain where Broughton was in the road when she was hit.

Investigators are looking at several factors that could have played a part in the crash, including speed and the dark roadway.

The driver of the minivan has not been charged.
