LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Southern Indiana facility for abused and neglected children is being sued after one of its worker pleaded guilty in a sex abuse case.

In May of 2013, 26-year-old former Childplace employee Megan Ralston pleaded guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old boy who was staying at the facility because of "behavioral problems and psychological illness."

According to court documents, Ralston admitted to police that she had sex with the teen in one of the housing cottages used by Childplace and also in a Childplace van several times.

The lawsuit states that, despite warnings to Childplace administrators, no action was taken to control Ralston or to protect the victim from abuse.

"A treatment center for vulnerable children must protect residents from sexual abuse by staff members," said Jeff Herman, the attorney for the victim in this case.
