International Exchange Student Program Seeks Coordinators in Your Town

PORT CHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PAX - Program of Academic Exchange seeks local coordinators throughout the U.S. to work with international high school students visiting for the school year.

Share Your America by becoming a local coordinator for international exchange students. Go to PAX.org to learn more.

A community coordinator is an independent contractor who represents the PAX program in the local community. "It is a great opportunity to provide families in your community a positive, life-changing experience through exposure to a new culture," says Bradley Smith, PAX president and chief executive officer.

Anyone interested in becoming a community coordinator should fill out a PAX inquiry form or call 800-555-6211.

"I am very involved in my community and have, myself, done short-term exchanges to Germany, so I find it extremely rewarding to help local families enjoy the experience of hosting a foreign student," says Laurel Paul of Washington, Utah. "The financial 'thank you' from PAX is also nice."

Community coordinators are responsible for recruiting and screening volunteer host families; arranging placement with local high schools; and supporting students, host families, and schools throughout the academic year.

Visit real PAX students and families on Facebook and YouTube.

The position boasts part-time, flexible scheduling, modest compensation on a commission basis, annual domestic and international educational travel perks, and is managed from home. Many, but not all, community coordinators bring international, education, or youth program experience to the role. And the most successful have excellent networking, public relations, communications, and sales skills.
