"Laughs" host planning Derby City Comedy Festival and tv comedy domination
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The new standup comedy show Laughs is gaining a following on Fox stations across the country.
Host Steve Hofstetter says the show is doing great, and he's excited about the growing ratings in Louisville and other markets. "Laughs" will features the best standup from around the country each week along with other nuggets including "the funniest tweets." The show starts in 11 p.m. on WDRB, and it also runs in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D. C., Dallas, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Charlotte and Orlando.
Hofstetter continues to crisscross the country doing his own comedy standup and stopping at his L.A. home. Along with other investors, he recently bought another comedy club in Dayton, Ohio. And he is planning the Derby City Comedy Festival in September with names like Pete Holmes, Maria Bamford, & Tommy Johnagin.
He also gets to test his throwing arm by throwing out the first pitch at the Louisville Bats' game on Friday, August 22nd.
Hofstetter is part of the ownership of the Laughing Derby in Louisville, which was formerly named Comedy Caravan. Weekly tapings of "Laughs" are scheduled at the Laughing Derby on Bardstown Road for Thursdays at 7:45 p.m. through September.
