Apartment complex remains unfinished for some U of L students on move-in day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - On the day when many University of Louisville students were planning to move into their new homes for the upcoming school year, everything may not have been ready for them.

Several concerned parents contacted WDRB that The Grove, an off-campus housing complex on Unity Place, was not ready for their child to move in.

Campus Crest Communities, who is the company behind the complex, had this statement in response to the delays:

"Some of the final finish work was not completed to our normal move-in ready standard, which caused a temporary, but inconvenient, disturbance. We have teams working on the issues now and are providing hotel accommodations for those affected by this unanticipated event.

"We will continue to communicate with residents directly regarding this matter. Given our high standards of excellence, this is not desirable. We sincerely apologize for the delays and are fully committed to providing our residents with the highest quality living experience."

U of L housing officials, who met with developers from The Grove recently, said earlier this week that the apartments that were already reserved would be ready for their occupants, but admitted that not every unit was finished.
