Apple offering to replace some faulty iPhone 5 batteries for free

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Apple says a very small percentage of iPhone 5s may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more often.

Only the phones sold between Sept. 2012 and Jan. 2013 and bearing a certain range of serial numbers are eligible.

If your iPhone 5 is experiencing these symptoms and meets certain eligibility requirements, Apple says it will replace the phone battery for free.
