LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Walgreens pharmacy technicians have been arrested after police say they were stealing prescription medications.
According to arrest reports, officers arrested 20-year-old Jacob Richardson on Monday morning. Richardson, a pharmacy tech at the Walgreens on Dixie Highway, near W. Hill Street, had allegedly been stealing medications -- including hydrocodone and Alprazolam -- for several months. Police say Richardson admitted to the thefts.
Additionally, police also say they arrested another pharmacy technician. Stacey Mattingly, age 28, was working at the Walgreens on Outer Loop, near Preston Highway, when she allegedly stole prescription medications including hydrocodone. Police say surveillance video captured images of her taking handfuls of pills out of bottles in the pharmacy, and she already had several pills in her possession. Mattingly allegedly admitted her crimes to police.
Both pharmacy technicians were charged with theft of a controlled substance.
