UPS, Independent Pilots Association sanctioned by NTSB over online comments

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Both UPS and the Independent Pilots Association are being criticized for speaking out about last year's UPS plane crash in Birmingham.

The National Transportation Safety board is sanctioning UPS and taking action against the Independent Pilots Association. Both agencies posted remarks online earlier this month about pilot rest time and whether the federal guidelines should be changed.

The NTSB says that violated an agreement to not speak about the ongoing investigation.

Two pilots died when the plane from Louisville crashed at the edge of the Birmingham Airport last August. The NTSB will discuss its findings next month in Washington, DC.
