Contribute to the Trooper Project

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rodney Brewer and Lt. Col. Jack Miniard trekked the Grand Canyon from rim to rim Aug. 22-24 in a 30-mile hike to honor all KSP troopers who currently serve and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice with their lives.

The pair carried the photos of the 27 officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty since the agency's inception in 1948. Brewer and Miniard used vacation time for the hike and incurred all expenses associated with the trip.

No tax dollars were used to support the walk.

They are asking supporters to donate $1 to “The Trooper Project” for their effort. The project will consist of a seven-and-a-half foot bronze trooper statue to be located on the grounds of the new KSP Training Academy in Frankfort, Ky.
