AMBER ALERT: Mother pleads for safe return of boy

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS (WDRB) -- An Indianapolis mother is pleading for the safe return of her 6-week-old son reported abducted from his father during a daylight armed attack. Twenty-two-year-old Taniasha Perkins sobbed as she asked Thursday for whoever has Delano Wilson to return him.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert early Thursday for Delano Wilson, saying he is considered in extreme danger. The alert says a white man and a Hispanic woman were last seen with the infant in an early 2000s blue Ford Taurus car.

The child was last seen wearing a dark blue baby "onesie," the alert said.

The child's father, Willie Wilson, told police he was holding the baby around noon Wednesday when he was approached by the man and woman. He said baby was taken after the man hit him in the head with a gun.

Perkins told reporters that Delano's abduction has "ripped a hole" in her heart. She says she and Willie Wilson work hard to provide for the baby.

The man believed to have abducted the baby is described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 5'6"-5'9" tall, with a medium build, short brown hair and wearing a black do-rag, red t-shirt, blue jean shorts and red, black and blue tennis shoes.

The Hispanic female is between 25-30 years old, with a thin build, long brown hair. When last seen, she was wearing a green shirt and matching green hoop earrings.

Indianapolis police Sgt. Kendale Adams says a helicopter and search dogs were used during a search of the neighborhood just west of the city's downtown that lasted several hours.

Anyone with information is asked to dial 911 or 1-888-58AMBER.
