LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Police arrested a man after they say he hit a teenager with a car, while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Glynn Brent, 30, was arrested by police on Monday night after they say he hit a 14-year-old male with a car in the 1800 block of Date Street near Garland Avenue, according to police records.

Police arrived at the scene and observed Brent "staggering around with slurred speech." Police also say Brent had bloodshot eyes, was unstable on his feet and had the smell of alcohol on his breath.

A witness told police that he saw Brent driving west on Date Street, and that Brent allegedly was swerving left-to-right when he hit the witness' parked vehicle, just before the victim was struck.

Police state the victim was transported to Kosair Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Brent is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and second-degree assault. He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.

The condition of the 14-year-old is not available.
