LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Jeffersontown Police arrested a man who they allege threatened a school teacher.

Police say Richard Hampton, 23, called a school teacher on her cell phone and threatened to blow up Carrithers Middle School where she is employed. He was arrested on Sunday afternoon on Wendell Circle, near Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown.

Police say that upon being arrested, Hampton waived his Miranda rights, saying he had made false statements regarding blowing up the school, and that he only intended to blow up the teacher's car.

Hampton is charged with terroristic threatening and is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
