Metro Parks and Recreation launch Beep Baseball League

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Parks is launching the city's first official Beep Baseball league.

Beep baseball makes it possible for visually impaired players to participate in the game.

Coaches use a beeping ball to pitch to their own players, who run to a beeping base if they get a hit.

Sighted assistants help blind defenders locate the ball.

The game's been around for decades, but Kentucky didn't have a league until just recently.

Games will be held Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., from Sept. 16 through Oct. 14 at Joe Creason Park.

The cost is $25 per player.
