Pop-up beer garden 'resurfaces' vacant lot in downtown Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There are signs of life at a vacant downtown Louisville lot as crews are setting up for what's dubbed "ReSurfaced."

It's a project meant to transform vacant lots into places with art, music, movies and craft beer.

This pop-up is at the site of the failed Museum Plaza project and will be open from September 19th until October 25th.

The bamboo stalks and small green mounds will be part of the beer garden.

Organizers say the goal is to show people that the city's vacant spaces, surface parking lots, and abandoned buildings can be useful and beautiful.
