Arcing power lines blamed for Clarksville house fire

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Fire officials say arcing power lines caused a house fire in Clarksville, Indiana early Thursday.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Gutford Road near Blackiston Mill Road. The Clarksville Fire Chief tells WDRB the power lines began arcing at the service point into the home.

A small fire started in the basement, but crews were able to contain it quickly.

Officials have not said if weather was a factor.

No injuries were reported.
