LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Louisville men are in custody after police say they caused approximately $300,000 to a building by taking scrap metal.

According to arrest reports, 36-year-old Anthony Gohl and 36-year-old Daniel Elder admitted to unlawfully entering a building at 10801 Deering Road, near the corner of Dixie Highway and Valley Station Drive, on 18 different occasions and taking scrap metal. Police say they caused approximately $300,000 worth of damage, and were seen on surveillance video committing the burglaries.

Both men allegedly told officers they committed the burglaries in order to feed their heroin addictions. They were arrested Wednesday morning and face multiple counts of burglary.

According to a commercial real estate listing online, the building once housed a Catholic church and school and is currently for sale.
