Michigan funeral home offers drive-thru visitations
LOUISVILLE- Ky. (WDRB) -- A Michigan funeral home offers a solution for people in a hurry.
The Paradise Funeral Chapel now has a drive-thru window for visitations.
It's designed to allow more people to see someone who has died.
The drive- thru targets people who cannot make it to a traditional visitation because of work or disability.
The $300,000 design uses sensors to open and close the curtains when cars pull up and leave.
"When you enter the drive- thru you'll drop a memorial into the memorial box, sign the register book, drive forward and you'll be able to sit in the privacy of your vehicle for three minutes," said the funeral home owner.
The drive-thru option is offered to families at no additional charge.
The chapel says it has received both positive and negative feedback.
