LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say an 18-year-old Lawrenceburg, Ky. mother left her 17-month-old child alone in her crib while she went to do drugs at a neighbor's house.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place on Monday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m., at a home on Hunter Ridge Drive, near the intersection of Versailles Road and N. Main Street.

Lawrenceburg Police say Brianna Mowry left the infant alone in the crib while she went down the street to do drugs at a neighbor's house on the other side of the neighborhood.

Mowry's aunt called for assistance, and police say they found Mowry walking back home, "clearly under the influence" of what she claimed was marijuana.

Police say the child had been left alone for at least 20 minutes. Social Services eventually placed the child with a family member.

Mowry was arrested and charged with second degree wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor. She is currently being housed in the Shelby County Detention Center.
