U of L hosting bone marrow drive

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- U of L is hosting a bone marrow drive to highlight the need for patients like Owen McMasters.

The Trinity High School student was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia three years ago. Now the 15-year-old needs a bone marrow transplant to fight the disease.

The registration process takes about five minutes and consists of a short consent form and a cheek swab to determine a match. The drive runs today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the courtyard of the Health Science Center campus, and on Thursday in the Swain Student Activities Center on the Belknap campus.
