'Where Opportunity Knox' aims to get jobs for 10,000 vets

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Local business leaders are pushing to connect thousands of qualified veterans with jobs in our own backyard.

Thousand of soldiers are leaving the U.S. Army through Fort Knox's Transition Assistance Program each year. The goal is to connect 10,000 of the veterans with jobs over the next three years. It's called "Where Opportunity Knox."

Three local chambers are taking part, including Greater Louisville Inc., the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce and One Southern Indiana. Those backing the plan say the proximity to Fort Knox means the potential exists to become a veteran talent magnet.
