Ohio man biking hundreds of miles to raise money for Louisville charity

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Ohio man is biking 720 miles from Michigan to New York -- and he's doing it for a Louisville charity.

Real estate developer Jim Frey is raising money for the Women's Global Cancer Alliance. So far, he's raised $61,000.

The WCGA's purpose is to help women in developing countries live healthier lives. Frey says he's passionate about this organization because cancer has affected him personally.

"I lost my sister in '73, and lost my father in '76, had a brother who had colon cancer twice and prostrate cancer," he said.

The Alliance is headed by Louisville native, Dr. Roger Hilgers, who works to provide cervical cancer screenings and health care facilities for women in Haiti.
