LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Indiana State Police say the wreck happened around 2:45 p.m. when a Ford F-450 truck rear-ended a semi-truck.

20-year-old Karl Stephen Moser Jr. was driving the F-450 and was pinned inside his truck for over an hour before emergency crews could free him.

Moser was eventually freed when the vehicles were pulled apart and airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the semi-truck was not hurt and was wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation as it is not clear why Moser ran into the back of the truck trailer.

The Scott County Sheriff's Department and the Clark County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
