I-65N in Hardin County reopened after pavement break causes traffic tie-ups

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- All northbound lanes of I-65 at mile marker 97 in Hardin County re-opened Friday afternoon after a break in pavement temporarily closed the interstate just before 6 a.m.

That's according to Chris Jessie with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Jessie says KYTC engineers have determined the break in the center lane was caused by a base failure, and says it is not a sinkhole.

Two lanes were closed as crews patch the break, located just north of Elizabethtown. By early afternoon, crews were able to mill and dig out the pavement. Repairs have since been completed.
