LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Police say they have arrested a Jeffersonville High School Student for possession of a gun on school property.

Jeffersonville police Detective Todd Hollis confirms a male student was arrested Friday for having an unloaded shotgun in his car. The student did not make any threats and Hollis says no one was in any danger.

According to a statement, school administrators received a report that a weapon was possibly on school grounds in a student's vehicle. School officials investigated the report and say the student was cooperative with the police.

Hollis says the student is charged with possession of a firearm and possession of a knife on school property; he did not say if the knife was in the car.
