LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A very colorful run today in southern Indiana raised money for kids and their families.

It's all part of the Big Bash Color Dash, a fundraiser for Family and Children's Place.

WDRB's Sterling Riggs emceed the event at Sam Peden Community Park in New Albany.

The 5K walk and run included a live band.

It was not a competition, the agency saying it's more about sharing memories and laughing.

Family and Children's Place works with people impacted by child abuse and family violence in Indiana and Kentucky.

"So we really help teach families what's the difference between discipline and punishment, so they know how to appropriately discipline their

children without being hurtful in any way," said Pam Darnall, CEO of Family and Children's Place.

The agency works with 5,000 children and families every year.

Roughly 175 people took part in today's race.
