AIDS and Pet Walk aims to open dialogue in Louisville

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - HIV and AIDS doesn't discriminate, affecting people from all walks of life.

That was the message at this year's 21st annual AIDS and Pet Walk in Louisville.

The goal of the event was to get the conversation started and create an open dialogue.

To do just that, Mondo Geurra from Project Runway shared his story and how he still leads a full life, despite having HIV.

"When I was silent for ten years, I didn't really seek the support or the help - not only from loved ones, but also taking responsibility for my own healthy life by seeking the opportunities I could to be 100 percent," Geurra said.

All the money raised today supports the Kentuckiana AIDS alliance.
