LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- 19 cases of a rare virus have sprung up in Indiana. State health officials made the announcement about Enterovirus D68 Friday.

It's a respiratory illness which can be serious for infants, children and individuals with other respiratory conditions, like asthma.

Indiana is one of several states affected in this multi-state outbreak, which also includes Kentucky.

There is no vaccine or treatment for the virus, but hospitals can provide supportive therapy.
