LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person has been arrested after a crash that killed three people in PRP Sunday evening.

Nathan Browning, 33, was booked into Metro Corrections early Monday. He's accused of running a red light and crashing the Chevy Suburban he was driving into a Ford Contour at the intersection of Greenbelt Hwy. and Lower Hunters Trace around 7:30 Sunday evening.

Three people in the Contour -- two men and one woman -- were pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the car was 36-year-old Gary Miller, and his wife, 35-year-old Heather Smith, was the front seat passenger. A friend of the couple, 43-year-old Stevie Smith, was riding in the back seat.

All three died of multiple blunt force trauma. All were wearing seat belts.

Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says the SUV was headed west on Lower Hunters Trace when it hit the Contour in the intersection.

Police say the Contour was struck on the driver's side and pushed more than 180 feet. Mitchell said witnesses told police the Suburban ran the traffic light before colliding with the Contour. The Suburban rolled over and came to rest about 389 feet from the point of impact.

According to the arrest report, one witness said Browning tried to remove some of his clothing after crawling out of the Suburban. According to the arrest report, Browning allegedly tried to steal a moped from a child at the scene.

Police say Browning admitted running the red light and traveling at a high rate of speed.

Browning, described as a "persistent felon" in the arrest report, is charged with three counts of manslaughter, four counts of wanton endangerment, and one count of criminal mischief. He's being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $50,000 full cash bond.

No funeral arrangements have been set for the three.
