Parents of Ne'Riah Miller plan activism events after daughter's death

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - It's been one month since 16-month-old Ne'Riah Miller was shot and killed in Louisville's West End.

Ne'Riah's parents and other relatives placed balloons around the Garden of the Angels on Tuesday.

Some have Mickey Mouse on them, a show they say Ne'Riah enjoyed.

Since the 16-month-old's death a month ago, her parents Sierra Twyman and William Miller have turned their grief into activism.

They are collaborating with the non profit organization, "Let the Kids Grow."

We're told Ne'Riah will be the face of an evolving campaign, and Master P will be writing a song about her.

The couple also announced two other events in Louisville in November: a private event for family and a fundraiser involving the Kentucky Step and Dance team.

Ne'Riah's father says he never envisioned this as his life. He thought he would be raising his child.

Again, those events are scheduled for November.

Four people have been arrested in connection with Ne'Riah's murder.
