Former KSP trooper accused of sexual relationship with minor will not have case dismissed

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A former KSP trooper indicted for a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl will not have his case dismissed.

Stratford Young's attorney had argued "a police officer" is not included in the definition of "being a person of authority."

It's not in the wording of the statute, so Young's attorney says it's unconstitutional to include him.

However, Judge Bruce Butler agreed with prosecutors' stance, that a police officer is a position of authority.

Young and former Brandenburg Officer Todd Matti were both indicted for a sexual relationship with the same 15-year-old girl.
