LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Clarksville, Ind. man after he was accused of using his phone to send nude photos of himself to three juveniles in Trimble County.

According to Kentucky State Police, 21-year-old Zachary Shearer turned himself in Friday after he was indicted on charges of using electronic devices to try to lure minors to have sex with him.

"They were early teen and even pre-teen," KSP Trooper Brad Arterburn said of the victims.

Police say Shearer also requested nude pictures from the females and tried to persuade them to have sex with him. On two occasions, police say Shearer drove to Trimble County and showed up at the homes of the victims.

Police say Shearer used text messaging, Facebook and other social networking sites to interact with the girls.

Shearer is already a registered sex offender in Indiana, according to police. Online records show he was convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor in Washington County.

"In Kentucky, they cannot have a Facebook account or any kind of social media where somebody under the age of 18 can be on there," Arterburn said about registered sex offenders. "In Indiana, I don't believe that's the case. I believe they can have a social media account, they just have to let enforcement officers have access to that account. So it's different laws in different states."

In June, Shearer was also charged with four counts of sexual misconduct with a minor in Clark County. A probable cause affidavit states he had sex with a 14-year-old four times. He told police that he met the victim on Facebook.

"This does show an absolute pattern that this is a predator that we're glad to get off the streets," Arterburn said.

In the Trimble County case, Shearer is charged with three counts of Prohibited Use of Electronic Communication System to Procure a Minor for Sexual Contact/Offenses. He's being held at the Carroll County Detention Center.
