Clown convention attendees worried about the future of clownhood

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Clowns from across the Midwest are brushing up on their skills this week.

At the Midwest Clown Convention in Iowa, clowns are learning improv, face painting and stocking up on all the latest funny gadgets. But it's not all fun and games. They're also trying to recruit.

Clowning is becoming a dying art -- and there's actually a nationwide shortage of clowns.

The clowns attending this year's convention hope to add to their ranks by showing what the the art of clowning is really about.
