LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Most Boeing 757's use jet engines to get around on the tarmac.

But today at UPS, it was all about "people power."

Nearly 40 teams competed to pull the 147,000-pound UPS plane at Atlantic Aviation, benefiting Special Olympics Kentucky.

The goal of the event, put on by ResCare, was to see which group could pull it 12 feet in the fastest time.

Teams could have up to 20 people, and each group had to raise $1,000 to compete.

"Part of what we do at Stantec is we create community," said Krista Streips of the Stantec Consulting Services team. "And we believe in serving our community the best we can and part of our community are the special olympians. They're an inspiration to us all, and we are totally inspired by what they do out in the community and we want to be out and help support them too."

The winning co-ed team, "BAE Systems," pulled the plane in seven seconds.

Today's event raised more than $116,000.
