New Albany kicks off Harvest Homecoming Festival

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Saturday was a big kickoff in New Albany for the city's Harvest Homecoming Festival.

More than 100 floats, dance groups, clowns and bands hit the streets.

The entire festival, now in its 47th year, draws in thousands of out-of-town visitors.

It started out as a three-day pumpkin festival, but now lasts for more than a week.

"I come every year," said one attendee. "My kids come every year, my grandson, and people from out of town come. It's like a tradition. Everybody comes out to the parade."

The festival runs through next Sunday.
