Wish granted for 102-year-old woman

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A 102-year-old woman from Pee Wee Valley gets her wish granted with the help of a little farm equipment.

Virginia Broyles has been living at the Friendship Health and Rehab center for the last nine years.

Before then she lived on a farm. She raised beef and cattle, but her nephew says she spent most of her time on a tractor raking hay. She's been dreaming of the good ole farming days and hopping back on a tractor.

Opal's Dream Foundation granted this wish and brought the farm to her.

“There's a whole lot on a farm that's different than people are thinking about a farm today. A lot of them, of course, have seen farms but a lot of farms are looking different,” said Broyles.

“The whole time I've been here, all she's talked about was living on the farm and wanting to get back out on a tractor. She loved living on a farm. She's lived on a farm all her life,” said Leslie Petree from Friendship Health and Rehab.

Although Virginia didn't hop on the tractor because it was too cold, she had her own parade of tractors and old fashioned cars.

Virginia said it reminded her of the days when she worked on her 176 acre farm.
