"Aunt Jemima" family files $2 billion against the brand

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The great-grandchildren of the woman featured on the front of Aunt Jemima syrup filed a lawsuit seeking royalty back payments.

Anna Short Harrington was an employee of Quaker Oats who died in 1955.  Her heirs are seeking more than $2 billion.

The lawsuit claims PepsiCo, Quaker Oats, Pinnacle Foods and Hillshire Brands withheld information that identified Harrington as a former employee of Quaker Oats. They claim the companies exploited her image and recipes-without paying a fair share of royalties to her or related family members for over 60 years.
