LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police have arrested a woman after they say she used a bad check to purchase a luxury vehicle.

Patricia Brewer, 25, was arrested on Monday morning, after authorities say she wrote a bad check in the amount of $21,775 to purchase a Mercedes- Benz C300. Police records state the check drew from a non-existent Chase Bank account.

Police say the victim attempted several times to get in touch with Brewer, but were not able to contact her. Police say that Brewer did admit to the victim in an email that the account had been closed.

Police were able to track the vehicle by going to a Hardin County car lot.

Police arrested Brewer and charged her with theft and criminal possession of a forged instrument. She is being held on a $21,000 cash bond.
