Louisville man accused of killing girlfriend, setting corpse on fire

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say they have arrested a man accused of murdering his girlfriend and setting her corpse on fire in an attempt to destroy the evidence.

According to a police report, it happened Oct. 5 at the couple's home in the 500 block of Iowa Avenue, which is just north of Churchill Downs. That's where police say 46-year-old Antoine Bosley shot and killed his live-in girlfriend. After the murder, police say Bosley "set the victim on fire in the rear of the location in an attempt to destroy the corpse."

The next day, on Oct. 6, police say Bosley was involved in a DUI crash. That's when police found Bosley "in possession of a .380 handgun believed to have been used in the murder."

According to the arrest slip, Bosley has numerous felony convictions in other states.

Police say Bosley gave a taped statement admitting that he killed the victim.

On Thursday, a container of lighter fluid was visible on the porch. Neighbors say they have seen and smelled smoke all week, but thought he was burning trash.

"I smelled smoke all week long," said one neighbor who did not want to be identified. "It's been smoky over here -- it's a raunchy smell. The way I described it to the detective was it smelled like polyester and nylon burning."

Another neighbor, Cayla Casey, said the murder was "really sad. "I wish she could have got away, but obviously she was too scared."

Bosley was arrested early Thursday and faces several charges, including  murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
