One dead after Saturday morning crash in Bardstown

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - One person is dead after a two-vehicle accident in Bardstown on Saturday morning, the Nelson County Sheriff's Office says.

Witnesses say a black Ford Taurus pulled out in front of a white van traveling west on Springfield Road. The driver of the Taurus was entrapped and had to be freed by Sheriff's deputies and Bardstown Fire and Rescue.

He or she was transported to Flaget Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The survivor of the crash is Daniel Mackin, 51, of Bardstown.

Both drivers were wearing a seat belt.
