Louisville Film Festival features more than 100 movies

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - More than 130 films were viewed at this year's Louisville International Film Festival.

It was founded by Louisville native Conrad Bachmann, who helps expand educational opportunities to JCPS students.

Pleasure Ridge Park, Fern Creek and Ballard High Schools have programs for students to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of filmmaking.

Conrad says the students learn that Hollywood isn't all glitz and glamour.

"It's getting out there and making sure that everybody gets everything done in time, they get their film done in time, they get their editing done," Bachmann said. "And by the time they start realizing this is a lot of work, they're now totally engrossed in their project."

About 25 youth films were submitted this year.
