Portland Art and Heritage Fair highlights variety of west Louisville area

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Art exhibits, craft booths, food, music and trolley rides were all part of the first ever Portland Art and Heritage Fair.

Organizers say it's all about bringing life and change into the neighborhood.

They even had trolley tours of historic Portland.

An art and photography exhibit included more than 200 pieces from 13 artists.

All the artwork featured different viewpoints of the Ohio River.

"(Portland) is really doing a lot of great things," design coordinator Monica Beavers said. "It's a fantastic way to get people out here to see the area ... see a lot of great art and see what the people of Portland are up to."

Proceeds from today's festival not only help pay for the event, but also provide funding for future projects in the Portland neighborhood.
