LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police arrested a woman who they allege beat her daughter with a crutch.

Maimah Rashada, 33, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 600 block of Cecil Avenue, after police say she struck her daughter multiple times using a crutch. Police records also say that Rashada's three sons held her daughter down as she repeatedly beat her daughter.

Police say the incident began because the victim stated that she did not want to go to work. Rashada allegedly then locked her daughter out of the house. Police say the victim climbed back inside the house through a rear window and grabbed a crutch, which she then used to begin breaking out windows at the residence.

Police say the argument moved outside to the front yard, where authorities say the victim was tackled and held down by her three brothers. Police records state that Rashada struck her daughter six times using a crutch in the head and upper body, causing multiple cuts and abrasions to the victim.

Police say the victim was transported to Kosair Children's Hospital because of her injuries.

Rashada is charged with assault and four counts of an unlawful transaction with a minor. She is being held on a $15,000 cash bond.
