Police arrest swimming pool worker for allegedly scamming victims out of nearly $1000

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police arrested a man after he allegedly stole money from multiple victims.

Authorities arrested Charles Root on Friday morning after they say he stole hundred of dollars from victims. Police records indicate that Root agreed to complete work on swimming pools for three different victims between May 11 and May 14.

Police say Root collected a total of $934 from the victims and then dodged their phone calls.

The victims were able to identify Root by looking at police photos.

He is charged with theft and is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
