Clark Co. Democrats select new sheriff

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There's a new sheriff in town -- or at least in Clark County, Ind. Clark County Democrats have officially selected Brian Meyer to fill the role.

Meyer took over the position - on an interim basis - after former sheriff Danny Rodden took a leave following charges. Rodden admits to lying to the FBI to cover up his affair with a prostitute. He retired as part of a plea agreement about 10 days ago but a federal judge has not yet approved the plea deal.

As interim -- Meyer appointed new jail director Terry Hubler, who is working on improved training and procedures at the Clark County facility.

Meyer will now fill the role until the end of the year.

Meyer also is running against Jamey Noel and Mac Spainhour for the office in next month's election.
