LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested two men for driving their sport bikes on the Watterson Expressway at 110 mph.

It happened Tuesday just after 6 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-264, near Taylor Boulevard.

Police say 19-year-old Jonathon S. Harrington and 19-year-old Daniel C. Willoughby were clocked driving at 110 mph.

"Their actions were very reckless" and "placed citizens in danger," according to police.

Police say they stopped them as they slowed for heavy evening traffic, but that didn't last for long.

"Then they sped off westbound, cutting around traffic," an officer wrote in the arrest report. "Their speed again was over 110 mph. Their actions again were reckless and placed innocent citizens in danger."

Eventually an officer was able to stop them when they again slowed for heavy traffic. Both men were arrested and charged with speeding more than 26 miles over the speed limit, wanton endangerment and reckless driving.
