Federal judge strikes down law prohibiting campaign signs near Ky. polling places

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It looks like Kentucky voters will see campaign signs outside of polling places.

Just three weeks before Election Day, a federal judge struck down a Kentucky law that prohibits campaign activities within 300 feet of polling places. That means that candidates or their supporters can place their signs outside or campaign as voters go inside.

The changes come about after a northern Kentucky man challenged the law. He sued after campaign signs at his auto body shop were removed by sheriff's deputies because they were too close to a polling place at a nearby church.
