Duke Energy donates $5,000 for garden project

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Gateway project is nearing completion, and on Wednesday, Duke Energy gave $5,000 to continue and finish other projects.

The Gateway project is designed to connect four southern Indiana communities by constructing four artistic gateways from recycled "green" construction materials.

This is the third garden the fund has helped construct.

Duke Energy invests in these projects to help improve the community.

"For this particular project, what makes it so significant is that we are looking at environmentally friendly ways to impact construction methods, taking things out of the landfills," said Pat More of Duke Energy.

The fourth garden project will be constructed on the Bob Hill Estate.
